My artistic journey is a vibrant exploration of diverse media and techniques, each contributing to a cohesive body of work that reflects my enduring passion for Surrealism, Symbolism, and rich color. The retrospective titled "Life of Riley" in 2023 encapsulated this immersive journey, showcasing not only my long-standing dedication to collage but also my evolving painting and sculptural practices.

At the heart of my work lies a distinctive scumbling painting style, characterized by dynamic layers of color and texture that evoke emotional responses and challenge perceptions. These oil paintings and encaustic creations serve as a foundation for my artistic expression, allowing me to explore themes of identity, memory, and narrative depth.

My collage practice, honed over three decades, reflects an extensive accumulation of materials—from magazines spanning over half a century to personal artifacts. Under the framework of "Little Stories and The Big Picture," I meticulously curate images through a fusion of precise cuts and intuitive rips. This convergence of disparate elements forms cohesive pieces that resonate with personal narratives, often culminating in larger compositions where animals serve as potent symbols, inviting viewers into a dynamic visual dialogue.

In tandem with these practices, my inventive sculptural work pushes the boundaries of assemblage. I utilize an eclectic array of materials, including steel, ceramics, plastics, wood, and various metals, alongside the unique crepe paper flowers I craft by hand. These flowers add an organic, textural dimension to my sculptures, creating a juxtaposition of nature and industrial elements that challenges traditional perceptions of art and materiality.

Additionally, my explorations in bronze and plaster casting further expand my artistic repertoire, allowing me to create tangible forms that embody the fluidity of my ideas and concepts. Each medium informs the other, creating a harmonious flow between painting, collage, and sculpture, enhancing the narrative complexity that defines my practice.

Through this fusion of techniques and materials, I invite viewers to engage with the layers of meaning embedded within my work, encouraging a deeper exploration of the interplay between visual storytelling and personal experience.
